Norwood Cottage dates back to the early 1800’s. It was the former stables to Norwood House. The property was converted into a holiday cottage in 2016 and it was awarded 4* Gold from Visit Britain. The cottage is upgraded every year to keep our standards as high as possible. Since the cottage was launched in 2016 we have had many returning happy visitors to enjoy the cottage and the beautiful surrounding area. Dogs are very welcome.
These former stables to the main country house in the exclusive area of High Casterton, Kirkby Lonsdale have been renovated to the highest standards (Visit Britain 4* Gold).
The cottage is equipped with a log burner for those cosy nights in, enclosed garden and private off-road parking. The cottage is ideally positioned at the start of a stunning bridleway that will take you along the river Lune into the award-winning Georgian town of Kirkby Lonsdale.
The beauty of staying at Norwood Cottage is that everything you need is within walking distance. With a network of quiet country lanes and stunning footpaths, you can enjoy days out strolling through stunning scenery. Kirkby Lonsdale is just a short walk via the 1400 century Devil’s Bridge and along the delightful River Lune.
With over 25 fabulous places to enjoy great food and drink you will be spoilt for choice, but booking is essential. The family run Booths Supermarket is situated in Kirkby Lonsdale, with a wonderful choice of seasonal fresh food and luxury ingredients – it’s considered the Waitrose of the north, so go on and treat yourself for nights in at Norwood Cottage beside the log fire.

Lake District also within easy reach. Great friendly hosts who gave us some really good local recommendations for walks and places to visit and eat. Will definitely be staying again!”
